Ways You Can Serve with Us:
Integrative Learning Center seeks to bring together the best of traditional and nontraditional life approaches. We know there are good resources within traditional practices such as medicine, spirituality, ecology, education and business. Yet these practices don't have all the answers. Alternative practices also offer good resources; still they too don't have all the answers. To find answers, to find the truly best practices, to meet the needs of challenges not yet defined, one must ask questions. Through questioning, discovering, and applying, Integrative Learning Center grows healthier lives and a healthier world.
Not so long ago, what were called “alternative therapies” and “traditional therapies” were diametrically opposed. Fortunately, the evolution of each has begun to bring them together. Our programs cultivate this integration and encourage the asking of the next questions.
A volunteer team of somatic and child development experts has begun...Our current focus is human health and development in the physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual realms. Two of the works we offer, Bones for Life® and the Integral Human Gait Theory™, provide powerful, noninvasive ways to heal and grow. Highly effective programs such as these improve quality of life and reduce the need for more traumatic and expensive treatments. These programs can be integrated into traditional therapy models, not by throwing out what traditional therapies do well, but by filling the gaps and improving outcomes. When accessible at the community level, these same works empower people to participate in their own wellbeing in a cost-effective manner.
Understanding the impact of our programs is important. We have conducted a pilot study on the efficacy of Bones for Life® in elderly, community-dwelling adults. Also on the horizon is a study of Integral Human Gait Theory™ for patients recovering from stroke.
When funding becomes available, we will offer “Project Restful Zzzz” free to veterans who have difficulty sleeping as a result of traumatic experiences. Using simple movements, participants learn how relax into Sounder Sleep®.
A volunteer team of somatic and child development experts has begun the process of understanding tapping the learning power of each child's sensory motor system. This group is creating workshops and curriculum changes for new and experienced teachers at the university level.
Currently, no funding for these studies and projects exists other than individual donations.
Service is the process of creating meaning in our lives. Are you called to serve, to find purpose through our mission?
